Thesis Title
Pakistani Learners' Transition into University

Research Description
The study 'Pakistani Learners' Transition into University' aims to explore learners' experiences as they adapt to the university culture during the first semester. This study employs a mixed methods approach to collect and analyse data on the perceptions of a group of learners. Research tools include a survey of students and semi-structured interviews with individual learners. It is intended that the current research will have implications for learners, teachers, university administrators and policy makers. The information collected will help in providing insights into the nature of the challenges faced by the learners to adapt to the university culture during the transition phase. In addition, the study will give voice to the learners' perceptions on their experiences during transition into university.

Research Importance
This research is important to language of instruction and higher education policy makers; university administrators, teachers and students; and researchers investigating the topics of student transition and language of instruction issues; and last, but not least, to myself.
